This unique sterling silver hat pin caught my eye due to its fine detailed silver work and its moving parts. It intrigued me even further because it depicts the Water Bird (or Peyote Bird) which is a symbol that carries prayers from humans to the Great Spirit. It also represents renewal, healing, and truth. The green stone is glass. On the back is the name of the artist Ron Johnson and the original price of $425. This one of a kind pin comes from a very special place.

In the Rocky Mountains in a tiny town called Allenspark, CO there is a small cabin that holds many Native American Treasures. This little shop has a rich history. The store was started by a brave woman, Katherine,  in 1917.  As time passed her gift shop included more and more Native American arts and crafts. In the 1920's Charles Eagle Plume became acquainted with Katherine and worked along side her until 1966 when she passed. He took over the shop and renamed it Charles Eagle Plumes. I had the privilege and the honor to visit his shop while he was still alive. He was an amazing presence with a fantastic sense of humor and loving heart. He ran the shop with Anne Strange Owl, who became a dear friend, and her husband Dayton who took over the shop when he passed. Their daughter Nico now runs the shop. I highly recommend you visit it if you are ever in the area.
